Who we are:

Ryan and Tamarah McIntire. We have three great kids Cassidy, Kylah and Logan!

Where we are going:

Papua New Guinea Map

Why we are going:

We are Wycliffe members and are going to support Bible translation. There are over 1,700 languages waiting for a Bible in their mother tongue. That is roughly 165 million individuals living every day with our access to scripture!

We are going to fulfill the calling that the Lord placed on our hearts over a decade ago when He gave us this verse:  Romans 15:20-21 “It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather, as it is written:“Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”

We know that during the process of translating the Bible into a people group’s mother tongue they will hear the gospel story! What is even better? The end result is that they will have the Word of God to keep, to reach for day and night so the Lord may reveal Himself to them.

Psalms 1 1-3:

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.”

This story sums up perfectly why we are going:

A Quechua Bible translator in Peru, working with a Wycliffe Bible translators, once said, “Getting our spiritual food from a Spanish Bible is like trying to eat soup with a fork. We can barely get a little taste, but don’t get any nourishment.  When we read the Quechua Scriptures, it is like eating soup with a spoon – we not only get the wonderful taste, we get well-nourished spiritually!
